🎄Christmas Night at the Starks 🎄 [A continuation of Christmas Morning at the Starks] The Christmas party was a blast, Peter had one too many eggnogs, Happy was not amused by Tony’s indulging attitude. Rhodey had managed to convince Morgan that Prof Hulk knew Santa, she had since been asking to apply for the role as Santa’s Helper. Thor had to voice Santa in the end to answer her in order to send the overexcited 6-year-old to bed. Pepper and Tony are having a quiet moment after their friends and family all went home, Pepper is prepping some leftover meals ready for tomorrow and Tony has taken up knitting, they are both winding down from the long and joyful day. That is before their Santa’s little helper runs down the stairs and breaks the big exciting news to them.
Iron Fam Domestic Shenanigans 🎥: Peter the camera guy - Rhodey!! I’m not respected in this household anymore 🥺 - Aww c’mon Tones, come sit down and have some cocoa. - You only give me your cocoa when Morgan put too many marshmallows in it….. - What, you like marshmallows and anything Morgan made 🤷🏾♂️
In The Avengers, Pepper invites Agent Coulson in, despite the disruption to their date night. She asks him to join in. When Tony asks Coulson to come during official consultant hours (as he is a consultant and not a team member), it is Pepper who coxes Tony by handing him the file, knowing it is about Avengers business. Even when Tony is reluctant and says that they should continue their date night, Pepper tells Tony to focus on the work regarding the Avengers and decides that she’ll be leaving for DC. Later on, she helps redesign Stark Tower to Avengers tower with residential quarters for each Avenger.
In Avengers: Endgame, the situation has changed. Pepper does not come out to greet any of the Avengers, despite being in the house. Tony is left to serve and entertain the guests. Pepper even sends Morgan to “save her daddy” from the Avengers as the conversation grows long; but doesn’t show up herself.
Not to mention the fact that, even as Rescue, she only interacted with Tony, Rhodey, and Peter (and briefly spared a glance for Stephen Strange).
It really makes me wonder how much trust Pepper lost in the idea of Avengers as a team.
They didn’t realise he was dying, because neither Pepper nor Rhodey hacked into his personal files or took his personal health information without his consent, unlike SHIELD. Because both of them respect his boundaries.
Also, both of them did realize that he was hiding something in IM2:
They just didn’t guess that he was dying, because Tony took extensive care not to let them know.
